GPACA Call for Nominations

Deadline: April 6

Are you looking to increase your professional development in a local and meaningful way?

Do you have good ideas for strengthening programming efforts for counselors?

Want to work with a small group of people who are dedicated to improving counseling initiatives?

If you answered yes to ANY of the above questions you should consider running for a leadership position on the Greater Philadelphia Area Counseling Association (GPACA). GPACA is the Pennsylvania Counseling Association’s(PCA’s) local organization for counselors. We currently have over 100 members and offer trainings and workshops for local counselors and affiliates. We most recently offered a Trauma Symposium which had approximately 75 participants who reported the event added to their trauma knowledge and skill set. Our next event will be our Professional Development Day in April. This event proved to be a success last year and we are currently implementing strategies to strengthen the delivery of information and topics covered.

GPACA meetings occur once a month (or so) through an online modality (minimal travel required). We are committed to building on the skill set of our executive members and always take a collaborative approach to event planning and accomplishing tasks. We also welcome new ideas for strengthening our efforts. Essentially, we want our executive board to represent all of the areas GPACA covers (counties of Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, and Chester, and the northwestern counties of Berks, Lehigh and Northampton).

Currently, we are collecting nominations for the positions of President-Elect, Secretary, and Publicity Chair.

Descriptions are as follows:

President-elect:

Secretary:

Publicity Committee Chair:

Nominations for these three positions are due April 6th, 2018. All applicants must be a GPACA member. You can nominate yourself or a colleague. Please email Lisa Corbin at lisaannecorbin@gmail.com with any questions. If you are interested, send a ONE-PARAGRAPH biography that outlines your counseling experiences and the position you are applying for to lisaannecorbin@gmail.com . We welcome highly motivated new professionals who are looking to strengthen their leadership presence in the field of counseling. Looking forward to working with you!

Sincerely,

The GPACA Executive Team
