Call for Editor: Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association

 

The Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (JPCA) is a professional, refereed journal dedicated to the study and development of the counseling profession. The JPCA biannually publishes scholarly articles based on existing literature that address the interest, theory, research, and innovative programs and practices of professional counselors.

 

The Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association welcomes applicants for the position of Editor until October 1, 2017. This position is a unique opportunity to grow professionally and to contribute meaningfully to the PCA, the counseling profession, and the larger mental health field.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Receiving manuscript submissions and correspondence with authors
  • Distributing manuscripts for review
  • Making final decisions regarding manuscript acceptance/rejection
  • Editing final manuscripts
  • Coordinating publication of the journal with the printer
  • Recruiting reviewers and associate editors
  • Soliciting manuscripts

 

Persons interested in this position should:

 

  • Have strong skills in writing and editing and knowledge of APA style
  • Demonstrate knowledge of research methodology
  • Be organized and able to effectively track manuscripts
  • Be willing to recruit professionals state-wide to review articles and serve as associate editor
